SMSlifeline is a service that links mobile phones with computers via the internet, opening up new lines of communication for people with speech and hearing difficulties.
Thanks to SMSlifeline...
- A deaf person could call out a roadside rescue service when their car has broken down.
- A person who's unable to speak or hear following a stroke, could now keep in touch with the emergency service when they are on the train, car, or on foot.
The more organisations sign up to use the service, the easier life will become for people who, up to now, have faced serious communication challenges every day.
